The Role
The SEM Analyst helps us understand how keyword characteristics, seasonal trends, and other factors impact our portfolio performance and bidding systems in order to maximize ROI and maintain revenue growth. The ideal candidate is:

Your Task

  • Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analysis and reporting on keyword portfolio performance.
  • Build keyword performance and customer behavioral models using statistical and non-statistical methods.
  • Investigate and model the impact of systemic and seasonal factors on portfolio performance.
  • Design new algorithms of portfolio bidding, keyword clustering, and performance prediction.
  • Drive innovation in applying data mining and statistical modeling in our bidding and keyword valuation systems to successfully meet ROI and team goals.
  • Work with portfolio managers to understand business requirements and processes and maintain a team-oriented approach in all efforts to optimize performance for various business segments.
  • Communicate statistical findings clearly and concisely, with consideration for differing levels of statistical knowledge in your audience.

Your Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business field is required, Masters or higher highly preferred.

  • Experience or knowledge in several of the following areas: data mining, computational statistics, PPC management, lead generation, performance marketing, web analytics, pattern recognition, and financial modeling for trading and risk management.
  • Statistical experience should include:
    • Ability to translate complex statistical results to actionable business recommendations.
    • Knowledge and experience in diverse methods of regression/correlation analysis
    • Parametric and non-parametric inferential statistical methods
    • Preparing large data sets for statistical analysis (e.g., identifying outliers, variable transformation, etc.)
    • Detailed knowledge of assumptions underlying statistical analysis and ability to identify and correct data issues prior to analysis.
  • Experience with R and scripts such as SQL and Perl.
  • Hands on experience in dealing with large, complex data sets.

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to grow our traffic acquisition program through display advertising and are looking for a specialist to join us! Your goal will be to utilize display advertising across multiple DSPs to increase profitable traffic volume to our portfolio of sites. Your role will be to lead this project from strategy through to design, implementation, ongoing management, and optimization.

SEO/Growth Manager, Ask.com (OAK)

The Role

Each one of the portfolio companies has a position for an on-site representative of our department. This person will work with stakeholders of all departments that have an impact on SEO, and will be involved in the long-term strategic planning as well as daily execution tactics. Since SEO and inbound marketing are evolving into a very wide-ranging discipline, this role will also focus on user engagement, content quality, user onboarding and retention, email marketing, and other “Growth” principles. The Growth Manager will report to the SVP of Growth, but there will be frequent communications with the local C-level executives.  You will be the on-site voice of SEO and growth for one of these major brands.

You
You have an expert level understanding of SEO concepts such as search ranking and content optimization. In addition, you are strong in data science and also have product manager qualities. You should be data driven and have strong analytical skills that you can leverage to develop insights and action plans. You should be up to date on industry trends and experienced with tracking and reporting tools to research and measure keyword performance.

Your Task

  • Help refine our SEO strategy to increase keyword ranking (both # of keywords ranked and the ranking of existing keywords)
  • Implement risk mitigation techniques to reduce the risk of future search algorithm updates
  • Leverage data to build insights about our SEO efforts and contribute to a product roadmap
  • Work with our editorial team to ensure that our proprietary content conforms to SEO best practice
  • Work with Product Managers to ensure our websites are optimized for search engines
  • Work with Engineering to implement changes to improve ranking and conversions
  • Implement general “Growth” best practices, such as optimization of user engagement, onboarding, retention, etc.
  • Be the local voice for the larger SEO organization, and represent our group at all meetings (from low- to C-level stakeholders)

Your Skills

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in SEO and a proven track record of optimizing consumer internet brands
  • SEO experience with a large online publisher or ecommerce site is preferred
