If you're using Netscape Navigator or Communicator: Go to the "Edit" menu and choose "Preferences." At the top of the Preferences box, you will find "Navigator Starts With" and three options. Click on the button to the left of the "Home Page" option. Further down, the box reads, "Clicking on the Home button will take you to this page." Below, at "Location," enter http://www.ask.com/ and click "OK." If you're using Mozilla Firefox: Go to the "Tools" menu and choose "Options." How do I get rid of frames so that I can bookmark or print the answer pages from Ask?

When Ask finds a site to answer your question, you must first click "Remove Frames" on the top navigation bar below the ad before bookmarking the page, viewing the URL or printing. To get back to Ask , just click on the "Back" button on your browser tool bar or on the top navigation bar. Many of Ask.com's other pages are also in frames but do not have the "Remove Frames" feature. To print or bookmark any other framed page, click on the page with the right button of your mouse. You should see options. In Internet Explorer 4.0, you have two options. One: Select "Properties" and then highlight the URL, copy it and paste it to the address field. Two: Select "Add to Favorites." By selecting the page in your Favorites List, you can see it without Ask frames. In Netscape 4.0, you have three options. One: Select "Create Shortcut" and highlight the URL, copy it (canceling the shortcut that follows), and paste it into the location field. Two: Choose "Add Bookmark." By selecting this option, you can see the actual page for printing etc. Three: Select "Open Frame in New Window." This choice will open a new Netscape window with the frame page, so you can bookmark, print, etc.

Where's Jeeves?

After ten years of dutifully serving a growing population of internet users, Jeeves decided to step down as the face of AskJeeves.com, and retire in style. Jeeves symbolized a traditional, at-your-service butler which made people feel comfortable and at home with asking any type of question.

As the web became more of a real-time utility for people, Jeeves' job dramatically changed. Users came to Ask Jeeves for more sophisticated searches. Searches that were informational, navigational, and ultimately, transactional. Ask.com users wanted a search engine to help them search, get and do whatever they needed -- at a moment's notice.

This drove us to focus on improving our robust search engine technology and give users the Web's most useful set of tools, and gave Jeeves the opportunity to relax. Today, as Ask.com we are singularly focused on helping users find what they need through the complicated, exciting, ever-changing web. No matter what the search, Ask.com is committed to meeting the search challenge.
